David F. M. Todd (February 22, 1915 – March 31, 2008) was a New York City-based American architect. Todd was best known for designing the Manhattan Plaza complex and serving as chairman of the Landmarks Preservation Commission in 1989 and 1990. == Early life == David Fenton Michie Todd was born in Middletown, Ohio, on February 22, 1915.〔 He first graduated from Dartmouth College in 1937 before receiving his bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Michigan in 1940.〔 He married his wife, Suzanne Williams, in 1942.〔 Todd served in the United States Army in the Pacific during World War II.〔
